A heartbeat on the danger side

Soundbite: Merchants of Soul (Spoon)

Last week, we headed down to the South Melbourne Market for brunch and some shopping. It was our first time there, and Anne had mentioned that it was like a cross between Queen Vic and Bangkok’s Chatuchak market, so I didn’t really know what to expect. Turns out, it’s not so much like Chatuchak, just a smaller and perhaps pricier version of Queen Vic. But it was interesting, and the food was pretty fuckin’ A.

Arthur and Marcus both ordered the roast pork, Darren had that massive plate of beef stew and I had half a club sandwich because I wasn’t too hungry then. But really, I wish I had the appetite then. The beef stew was beautifully laid out on a blanket of creamy mash with Italian foccacia (I think) stacked at the side. The roast pork OMG FUCK IT WAS SO GODDAMN AWESOME the skin was so crispy and oily and fucking sinful. -_- I can’t even think in proper English when I remember my teeth biting into the crackling strip. So good.

Spoon’s tonight at Billboard! :) Kinda eggcited even though I’m not really a fan, and I really hope they play Merchants of Soul and/or Small Stakes because those two songs are just aceeeee.
